The Ladder Scenario

Can You Train Your Horse's Ears

Build Safety Features Into Your Horse
Переглядів 1,5 тис.Місяць тому
Before a horse does anything, they have to think about it. Whether your horse is spooking at an object on the trail or doing the opposite of what you ask, they had to take their attention off you in order to take those actions. We’re gonna visit and talk about how to get there early to change those thoughts before they manifest into problems. To watch the full version of this video, go to Bucka...
Can Your Horse’s Problems Be Fixed Using A 3 Step Guide?
Переглядів 717Місяць тому
We’ve all heard, “if you follow steps 1, 2, and 3 in this order exactly, it will make all your horse problems go away”. But does this work? As you know, every horse has “good” and “bad” spots inside of them. These can show up as sureness and unsureness, such as buddy sour. It’s important to know that when you’re trying to help your horse get through the “bad” spots, it can be many things that h...
Trailer Loading Demo
Переглядів 391Місяць тому
Although most horses can be either forced or pushed enough to eventually load into a trailer, if they’re anxious and uncomfortable about it, they will most likely paw the floor, kick the walls, and rush backwards out of there as soon as they get the chance. You want to make the trailer somewhere they WANT to be as opposed to somewhere they are FORCED to be. That makes all the difference. In the...
How To Fix A Braced Hip
Переглядів 6032 місяці тому
Have you ever had a rough canter? Well a lot of that reason is because the joints in the horse’s hip are not loose and “oiled”. Unbracing every part of the horse (particularly the hind legs) is how to go from a tractor to a Cadillac. To watch more videos like this and see the steps broken down, go to BuckarooCrew.com. I’m not sure I would tie a horse using a rope halter. I also think you should work with the horse and not tie him for hours alone. Where’s the teaching in that? Maybe after you work with them THEN you can tie the , but not straight off. Sorry don’t agree

Thank you for this. I just read a post that said the greatest gift we can give a horse is peace and when a horse does as we ask we give him peace. When he doesn’t we take it away. I was repulsed by that. We should always be a source of peace for them, especially when they’re struggling. Yes we can be firm, set boundaries, even escalate pressure if necessary - and still be a source of peace

Could I please get a full video on this? I’d love to have a better understanding of how to make my horse more comfortable. He gets real uneasy in the barn or any arena and just runs and it’s hard to get him to relax once his halters off!

I'm starting to ride my horses after maybe six years of them sitting in the pasture. The more I learn about what I'm doing, the more confident I feel. I have a big tall horse that I admit I have never cantered on. I hope I feel safe, I also have a smaller horse that I don't right now but he for me

Carson James, I have struggles with my mare getting ridiculously distracted - while riding. I do, and have been very consistent with bringing her back to neutral. when doing so, I will also tell her "focus." But to no avail. She gets so distracted; mis-steping, walking off trail, etc. What would be some helpful recommendations, in order for me to correct things? TIA
